Frans Pijnenburg

A trained art historian, with graduate degrees from the University of Amsterdam, Frans Pijnenburg taught Dutch and Italian language, and literature, for many years at the University of Trieste in Italy and at New York University’s Appraisal Studies Program.

Mr. Pijnenburg was employed by Christie’s, Rome as a consultant for furniture and decorative arts where he worked on, among others, the collection of Baron de Lemmerman, one of the most important in Europe and renowned for both Italian and European pieces.

Currently an appraiser in New York City, he advises clients in New York and Europe on the acquisition and disposal of art works and on their placement within design interiors.
